Jim Curtis has offered his clearest account yet of his relationship with Jennifer Aniston, describing a romance that developed through friendship and now gives him a sense of calm, presence and partnership.
The wellness author and transformational coach spoke about Aniston in an interview published by The Sunday Times on September 12. His remarks were not technically his first public comments about the actress—he also discussed their relationship during an August podcast—but they provide his most detailed explanation of how the couple became close.
“There was a many-month friendship first,” Curtis said, according to People.
What Jim Curtis Said About Their “Real Partnership”
Curtis, 50, contrasted his relationship with Aniston with connections he had pursued from a place of emotional need in the past.
He said the transition from friendship to romance felt natural and organic because he was no longer actively searching for someone to validate him. Asked what the relationship gives him now, Curtis described “real joy, real presence, real calmness, real partnership.”
The choice of words is notable because Curtis did not use the interview to make a dramatic announcement about the couple’s future. Instead, he emphasized the emotional character of their relationship: companionship, stability and a shared willingness to examine their own behavior.
Aniston, 57, has offered similarly warm but limited comments. In a September 14 Instagram Story celebrating the release of Curtis’ new book, she wrote, “I love this book,” followed by, “And I love this man,” People reported.
Their Romance Began With Months of Friendship

Aniston reportedly became familiar with Curtis’ work before they began dating. She followed him on Instagram, shared his earlier book Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide in May 2025 and was eventually introduced to him through a mutual friend.
Curtis said their friendship lasted for several months before becoming romantic. That timeline supports earlier reporting that the pair did not begin with a high-profile Hollywood courtship.
They were first publicly linked in July 2025 after being photographed on a yacht in Mallorca. Courteney Cox, Jason Bateman and Bateman’s wife, Amanda Anka, were among the friends accompanying them on the trip.
Aniston made the relationship Instagram official that November. She posted a black-and-white photograph of herself embracing Curtis from behind and called him “my love” in a birthday message.
Their public appearances have remained selective. Curtis attended events supporting Aniston, including the fourth-season premiere of The Morning Show and ELLE’s 2025 Women in Hollywood celebration. Aniston has now returned the support by helping him promote his work.
Meditation Plays a Role in Their Relationship
Curtis said he and Aniston share an interest in meditation and personal reflection.
“We take real responsibility to go within,” he told The Sunday Times, explaining that they meditate together and work to understand and calm themselves instead of expecting the other person to resolve every difficult emotion.
He offered more detail during an August 31 appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show. When asked how they handle disagreements, Curtis said they rely on conversation, meditation, acceptance and understanding.
Curtis also acknowledged that they remain in what he called the “honeymoon phase.” That distinction keeps his account from becoming a claim that the couple has solved every relationship problem. His comments instead describe the practices they currently use when tension arises.
During the same interview, he characterized Aniston as grounded, caring and open-hearted. He also said he felt welcomed by her close circle of longtime friends, which he described as a chosen family.
Jennifer Aniston Publicly Supported His New Book

The latest relationship comments arrived during Curtis’ promotional campaign for The Book of Possibility, released by Simon & Schuster on September 8.
The publisher describes the book as a self-help guide combining mindfulness, spirituality, hypnotherapy and ideas drawn from neuroscience. Curtis uses his experiences with chronic illness, physical pain and personal change as the foundation for its exercises.
On September 2, Aniston interviewed him onstage during a public event at New York’s 92nd Street Y. The appearance represented a notable role reversal: instead of Curtis accompanying Aniston at an entertainment-industry event, she took part in a discussion centered on his work and health journey.
Curtis has previously held executive positions at wellness and health-information companies. He now identifies himself as a transformational coach and creator of what he calls “hypno-coaching” and “hypno-meditations.”
The New Attention Has Required an Adjustment

Dating one of television’s most recognizable stars has sharply increased public interest in Curtis.
He acknowledged during his podcast appearance that seeing his name in entertainment headlines was new and required an adjustment. Although he had already built a public career online, he had not experienced the level of scrutiny that followed his relationship with Aniston.
That makes his current comments more revealing than the anonymous-source reports that initially defined the romance. Curtis is now describing the relationship in his own words, while still avoiding intimate details about their daily lives.
Aniston has followed a similar pattern. She has shared affectionate photographs and praised Curtis’ character, but she has not turned the relationship into a continuing public narrative.
What the Couple Has Not Announced
Curtis’ use of the phrase “real partnership” should not be interpreted as an engagement or marriage announcement.
Neither Aniston nor Curtis has publicly announced an engagement, wedding plan or other formal change in their relationship status. Curtis also did not attach a timeline to their future in the interview.
What is confirmed is that they have been together for more than a year, have publicly supported each other’s careers and have become comfortable discussing parts of their relationship.
For a couple that began with months of private friendship, that gradual approach appears consistent with the partnership Curtis described: less driven by public declarations and more focused on presence, calm and shared emotional responsibility.
