Lady Gaga and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, have reportedly welcomed their first child, but the couple has not publicly announced the arrival or disclosed any details about the baby.
People reported on September 11 that a source confirmed the couple had become parents, following an initial report and photographs published by Page Six. Gaga’s representatives did not respond to People’s request for comment. As of September 14, neither Gaga nor Polansky had addressed the reports through an official statement or social-media post.
The available evidence strongly supports reports that the couple is caring for a baby. However, the child’s name, sex, precise birth date and the circumstances through which the couple became parents remain private.
What the Reports Establish
Page Six was the first outlet to report the news, publishing photographs that it said showed Gaga carrying an infant in a wrap while walking with Polansky and another person in Northern California.
People subsequently reported that a source had confirmed the arrival of the couple’s first child. The Los Angeles Times and AFP also covered the development while carefully attributing the news to media reports.
Several publications have described the baby as the first child for both Gaga and Polansky. A later anonymous source told People that the two “beam” when discussing parenthood and had taken time away from work during the summer to spend with the baby.
Those accounts provide more than social-media speculation, but they are still based on unnamed sources and photographs rather than a direct announcement from the family. The most accurate description is therefore that Gaga and Polansky have reportedly welcomed their first child.
The Baby’s Name, Sex and Birth Date Remain Private
No credible report has identified the baby’s name or sex. The exact date of the child’s arrival has also not been disclosed beyond descriptions such as “recently.”
It is equally important not to make assumptions about how the couple became parents. Gaga did not publicly announce a pregnancy, and there has been no verified statement establishing whether the child was born to Gaga, carried by a surrogate or welcomed through adoption.
Reports claiming that Gaga personally gave birth go beyond the verified information currently available. Questions about pregnancy, fertility and medical history are particularly sensitive, and photographs of the singer carrying a baby do not establish any of those private circumstances.
The couple’s marital status should also be described accurately. Gaga and Polansky have publicly confirmed their engagement, but they have not announced that they are married. A ring visible in photographs is not sufficient evidence of a private wedding.
Privacy Has Defined Much of Their Relationship
Gaga and Polansky were first publicly linked around the beginning of 2020, although they reportedly met in 2019. Their relationship became public after they were photographed together during Super Bowl weekend.
Gaga confirmed their engagement during the 2024 Paris Olympics, when she introduced Polansky as her fiancé. In an American Vogue profile, she revealed that he had proposed in April 2024 following a rock-climbing trip.
The couple has attended major events together and collaborated professionally, but they have generally kept the details of their home life out of public view. Their decision not to release immediate information about a child would therefore be consistent with the way they have managed much of their relationship.
That privacy also means the photographs of their reported family outing should be handled carefully. News organizations can report what the images appear to document without reproducing intrusive photographs of an infant whom the parents have not introduced publicly.
Gaga Had Spoken Openly About Wanting Children
Although Gaga has not personally confirmed the latest reports, she had previously discussed her desire to become a mother.
During an October 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she said motherhood was what she wanted next, adding: “That’s my next starring role, I hope.”
She also addressed her priorities for a future child during a July 2025 interview on The Howard Stern Show. Gaga said music would likely be part of the child’s life but emphasized that providing a safe and happy childhood would be her first priority.
Those remarks offer relevant background, but they should not be treated as advance confirmation of when or how she planned to start a family.

What Happens Next
There is no established timetable for Gaga or Polansky to release a statement. They may eventually share the baby’s name, a photograph or selected details, but they could also decide to keep their child entirely outside the public spotlight.
The reported arrival followed the conclusion of Gaga’s Mayhem Ball tour in April. However, no official announcement has connected the end of the tour, her recent absence from public events or any future career decision to parenthood.
Until Gaga, Polansky or an authorized representative speaks publicly, the central distinction remains straightforward: multiple established outlets report that the couple has welcomed their first child, while nearly every personal detail about the baby—and the family’s path to parenthood—remains private.
