Miley Cyrus will release her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades, on Friday, September 18, carrying extraordinary concert demand into the opening weekend of her latest musical era.

Nearly 1.5 million people entered the presale queue for Cyrus’s two upcoming Hollywood Bowl concerts, according to organizers. The shows can accommodate approximately 35,000 people combined, meaning demand for the limited engagement vastly exceeded the number of available seats.

The figure represents people in the ticket queue—not 1.5 million completed purchases—but it still offers a powerful indication of the audience waiting to see Cyrus perform again.

What to Know About Bass Persuades

Bass Persuades is a 10-track album being released through Atlantic Records. The project arrives less than 16 months after Cyrus released Something Beautiful in May 2025.

The official track list begins with the title song and includes “Different Religion,” featuring New York band Model/Actriz, and “Neon Signs,” featuring Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow. Other titles include “Let’s Get Married,” “Orbit,” “Aftermath,” “REDLIGHTS,” “Innocent Ways” and “Snow.” A remix of “Bass Persuades” closes the record, according to Cyrus’s official store.

The title track was released September 3 with a music video directed by Mert Alas. Built around an ’80s-influenced dance-pop sound, the song challenges listeners to step away from their screens and return to the communal experience of music and dancing.

Cyrus described the larger album as encompassing both joy and pain.

“Music takes hold of us,” she wrote when announcing the record, describing it as powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. She said the title represents everything from a full heart to heartbreak and the experiences in between, according to People.

Miley Is Entering a New One-Name Era

The album campaign has been presented under the name “Miley,” without Cyrus’s surname prominently displayed across its branding.

The streamlined name should be understood as part of the project’s creative presentation rather than evidence of a legal name change. Digital services including Apple Music continue to list the artist as Miley Cyrus, while the official merchandise store describes Bass Persuades as an album “by Miley.”

The approach reinforces the sense that this is intended as a distinct new chapter. Its red-and-black visual identity and dance-driven title song mark a noticeable shift from the cinematic concept behind Something Beautiful.

However, listeners have heard only a limited portion of the album before Friday. Until the complete record arrives, broader descriptions of its sound remain provisional. The title track points toward electronic dance-pop, while the involvement of Model/Actriz suggests that some of the album may also draw from post-punk and experimental club music.

Nearly 1.5 Million People Entered the Ticket Queue

The demand surrounding Bass Persuades became clear when presales opened for Cyrus’s Hollywood Bowl performances.

Nearly 1.5 million people joined the queue for the two concerts, setting a presale-demand record, People reported. The number was also confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter by the shows’ organizers.

The concerts are scheduled for Friday, October 16, and Sunday, October 18, at 7:30 p.m., according to Ticketmaster’s official event information. Model/Actriz will appear as the special guest at both performances.

The dates will be Cyrus’s first major concerts since the Corona Capital festival in Mexico City in November 2022. She has made selected live appearances since then, but she has avoided committing to a conventional arena or stadium tour.

The Hollywood Bowl engagement is particularly significant because Cyrus has attended performances there but has never previously headlined the venue.

The Ticket Rush Could Lead to a Miley Residency

Cyrus has now suggested that the two shows could become a test for a longer Hollywood Bowl engagement.

During a new interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, she described the October concerts as an “ultimate dress rehearsal” for the residency model she has been considering. The ticket queue, she said, demonstrated that audiences are willing to travel to her instead of requiring her to tour from city to city.

“People will come to me. I don’t need to drive to you,” Cyrus said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

That arrangement could solve a long-running conflict in Cyrus’s relationship with live performance. She has previously said that she finds large-scale touring isolating and does not want to organize her life around an extended tour. A residency would let her continue performing while remaining based in Los Angeles.

No additional Hollywood Bowl dates or formal residency have been announced. The October concerts therefore remain a two-show engagement rather than the beginning of a confirmed longer run.

What Happens After the Album Arrives

The immediate test for Bass Persuades will be how its complete track list performs after Friday’s release.

The enormous ticket queue proves that Cyrus retains major live-event drawing power, but concert demand and album consumption are different measurements. Streaming totals, physical sales and chart performance will provide a clearer picture of the record’s commercial opening.

Attention will then turn toward the Hollywood Bowl, where fans will learn how extensively Cyrus incorporates the new album into her set and whether she uses the performances to revive material from earlier stages of her career.

What is already evident is that Bass Persuades is not entering the market quietly. With nearly 1.5 million people pursuing tickets for approximately 35,000 seats—and Cyrus openly considering a future residency—the album arrives with momentum that extends well beyond its first-week chart position.
